Friday, Oct. 27
The Panic Room: House of Horror @ BLVD Astoria
Visit BLVD Astoria’s supernatural Halloween party for an experience with friends to remember. The event will feature live entertainment, live music spun by DJs and more, along with a dress code aimed at spooky creativity: Halloween. The night will additionally bring a two-hour open bar from 10 p.m. until 12 a.m., along with bottle service available upon request. Movie Afternoon Presents “Halloween Kills: Face Your Fate”
All horror enthusiasts are invited to watch “Halloween Kills,” starring Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. Come witness the showdown between Strode, who has reunited with the boy she once babysat, Tommy Doyle, to face Michael Myers on Halloween night for a final battle, 40 years after Myers’ killing spree. Halloween Glow Kids Party
Doha Bar & Lounge is inviting all families for an eventful and spooktacular night made for children to mingle with friends and their favorite characters. A live DJ will be catering the entire night with Halloween classics, while children enjoy a range of activities like face painting, balloon sculpting, clowns, a magic show, a costume contest and more. Sunnyside Post Mile Halloween Mile Run
Sunnyside, will once again pulse with excitement as the Sunnyside Post Halloween Mile returns for its sixth year. Combining fitness with Halloween fun, this event invites participants to don their spookiest costumes and race down Skillman Avenue and the tree-lined streets of Sunnyside. In addition to the main mile, children can look forward to the Skillman Dashes, where everyone gets a medal and a treat bag. Participants are heartily encouraged to run in their spookiest costumes, adding a festive flair to the race. Proceeds from this community event support Sunnyside Community Services, ensuring festivity, athleticism and the distinctive spirit of Sunnyside, further establishing it as a treasured annual tradition. Code Astoria is designing a Halloween party specifically for the kids, where they will have the chance to dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy a number of attractions, like animal balloons, face painting, a clown show and pictures with their favorite characters like Woody, Gru and his minions, Mirabel and Bruno and more, all while listening to a live DJ. A candy giveaway and costume contest will follow the event, with the best costume winning a prize. (Code Astoria, 20-30 Steinway St., Astoria. 4 to 8 p.m. Admission: $25)
The Q.E.D. is back with another creepy motivated event that brings a writer and tour guide with the Boroughs of the Dead, a macabre and ghostly historical walking tour company, Marie Carter. She is calling all mystery and thriller lovers for her address on why Queens was given the nickname “Borough of the Dead,” with true spooky tales reported in top newspapers.
