Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are still searching for two burglars who made off with a vast amount of cash and property during an apartment heist in Queensboro Hill back on the morning of Monday Dec. 4.
Two strangers broke into a residence in one of the 3-story apartment buildings near the intersection of 136th Street and Booth Memorial, one block south of the Queens Botanical Garden, at around 10:15 a.m. Once inside, the suspects removed approximately $130,000 in cash and property valued at around $40,000. An NYPD spokesman could not say if the property included jewelry or electronics.
The burglars took off in a gray SUV in an unknown direction. The NYPD released a surveillance image of one of the suspects who drove the getaway car and described him as having dark hair and a light complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded winter jacket over a black sweatshirt with a white Lacoste logo across the chest. There are no arrests and the burglary investigation remains ongoing.

Through Dec. 24, the 109th Precinct has reported 550 burglaries so far in 2023, 55 fewer than the 605 reported at the same point last year, a decrease of 9.1%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
