JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, launched a pop-up holiday market at the terminal supporting 13 artisans and businesses in southeast Queens on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday to celebrate the launch of the holiday market, with several representatives from JFKIAT and the participating businesses on hand.
The initiative allows these small business owners to engage with a new audience of customers at the airport while also offering a truly local taste of New York for travelers. Each of the businesses that participated in the pop-up offered curated selections of local products.
“As a Queens-based business, JFKIAT has long been proud partners to businesses and organizations in our local community,” JFKIAT Director of People Operations Vernon Taylor said. “The opening of the market is a further demonstration of our commitment towards supporting, small, local and diverse businesses.”
Among the vendors participating in the pop-up are Beautiful Amore Skincare, BlaQue Label Apparel, Cindy Victoria Designs, Earthtone Boutique, Jewelry & Clay Works, K’Essential Blends, Madison + Green, Mantis BBQ, Pudding Pan Desserts, Sweet Vegan, Scent by Heaven LLC, Umikah and Watchcraft Inc.
“We’re so excited to have this amazing collective of local entrepreneurs, makers and artisans,” JFKIAT Commercial Senior Manager Jose Cuevas said. “We’re so proud to be the only airport in the United States that has this holiday market.”
The pop-up will continue to operate at Terminal 4 through Sunday, Dec. 24. Its hours of operation are from 12-8 p.m.
