A 92-year-old Bayside woman was robbed by a stranger who barged into her home near Alley Pond Park on Wednesday morning. Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are looking for the man who knocked on the door of the victim’s residence in the vicinity of 231st Street and 64th Avenue just before 11 a.m. on Jan. 3.
The senior answered the door and the suspect engaged her in conversation before shoving the woman into the home causing her to fall and strike her head, police said. The perpetrator entered the home and allegedly pulled out a knife before forcibly removing her wallet containing credit cards and $100 in cash. The suspect ran off northbound on 231st Street toward Northern Boulevard. The victim suffered minor injuries to her head and refused medical attention at the crime scene.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Wednesday and described him as having a medium complexion with a medium build approximately 5’10” tall.

Through New Year’s Eve, the 111th Precinct reported a big decrease in robberies with 61 during 2023, down from 82 reported during the previous year, a decline of 25.6%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
