Two firefighters hurt during two-alarm house fire in Ozone Park Friday afternoon: FDNY

The FDNY battled a two-alarm house fire that left two firefighters and a resident with minor injuries in Ozone Park on Friday afternoon. The call was received at 12:10 p.m. and arriving units found heavy smoke conditions at a home at 94-02 Linden Boulevard, a block east of Cross Bay Boulevard.

The fire breached the cockloft and spread throughout the structure as the FDNY transmitted a second alarm bringing a total of 25 units and 106 firefighters and EMS personnel to the scene.

The fire blaze was brought under control at 1:25 p.m. One resident was treated at the scene and refused further medical attention while EMS transported 2 firefighters to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment. Searches throughout the wood frame building were negative and the cause of the blaze will be determined by the FDNY Fire Marshal’s Office.
