Red Roof opens its 700th hotel, located in Jamaica, Queens

An affordable hotel chain has opened its newest location in Queens. Red Roof has opened Red Roof PLUS+, its 700th property, at 97-26 147th Pl. in Jamaica.

Property owner 147th Place LLC invested about $20 million in the newly built property, the first Red Roof property in the company’s portfolio. 

The interior-corridor hotel has 86 rooms and offers travelers an array of free amenities, including continental breakfast, verified Wi-Fi, a business center, free coffee in the lobby, a fitness facility, parking and paid guest laundry facilities.

Rooms include flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-refrigerators and in-room coffee makers. Premium rooms include an enhanced coffee experience, a snack box, a larger flat-screen TV and spa-inspired bathrooms. Additionally, pets are welcome at Red Roof PLUS+ Jamaica.

Red Roof PLUS+ Jamaica owner Steven Mendel said he is honored to open the hotel chain’s 700th property.“I look forward to providing our guests with an enhanced experience at a great value in an exceptional Queens location,” he said.

The property is located off I-678 and is close to several area destinations, including Resorts World Casino, the King Manor Museum, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the Queens Zoo, the New York Hall of Science, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Aqueduct Race Track and Citi Field. John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and the MTA Jamaica Station are also a short drive away.
