Grammy nominee Jonathan Butler to perform at Pre-Thanksgiving dinner and concert in Jamaica

For one night only, Southeast Queens residents can experience performances by Grammy-nominated recording Artist Jonathan Butler and notable spoken word artist Gha’il Rhodes Benjamin.

The event is set for Nov. 16 as part of the Black Spectrum Theatre Co.’s Dinner Theatre Series, which includes a fine dining experience at 5 p.m. and entertainment following at 7 p.m. The theater is located at Roy Wilkins Park, 177-01 Baisley Blvd. in Jamaica.

The Pre-Thanksgiving concert is the second production and first concert of Black Spectrum’s 2024-2025 season, following its opener “Black Spurs.”

Butler, who hails from South Africa, made history when he became the first non-white artist to be played on South African radio and appear on national television. The recording artist has amassed multiple top 10 Billboard hits, including  two Grammy-nominated singles, “Lies,” “Sarah,  Sarah,” and “More Than Friends.”

Tickets for the dinner and show are $90, and tickets for the concert only are $60. Subscribers receive 20% off Dinner Theatre shows and other concerts. Proceeds from this event will benefit art and entertainment programs for students.
