A Jamaica resident hit the jackpot as the New York Lottery announced Wednesday that a top-prize winning ticket was sold for the Jan. 7 TAKE 5 Evening drawing.

The ticket, worth $31,596, was purchased at B&B Deli Mini Mart Inc., located at 138-02 Farmers Blvd.

The winning numbers for TAKE 5 are drawn twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., offering players two chances every day to win life-changing prizes. Tickets can be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

This is another exciting win for the Jamaica community, which has a history of notable TAKE 5 victories. In October, a top prize of over $28,000 was won in Jamaica, following a $36,000 jackpot claimed in March.

TAKE 5 draws numbers from a field of one through 39, and tickets can be purchased at authorized Lottery retailers statewide.

As North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, the New York Lottery contributed $3.8 billion to support public schools across the state in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Players are reminded to play responsibly and are encouraged to seek help if struggling with a gambling addiction.
