Construction is almost done on a 13-story hotel and residential building, the Northern Tower, at 35-32 Leavitt St. in Flushing.
As of the end of January 2025, the Northern Tower has been fully clad in white and earth-toned paneling and external floor-to-ceiling glass. Glass railing for terraces also line the numerous setbacks across the building’s multifaceted massing. A flat parapet can be found at the top of the building.
Finishing touches are currently being done on the interiors. Barriers to the sidewalk, as well as a covered porch-like structure at the eastern end of the property, have blocked off access to the ground floor of the building.
Upon completion, it is expected to be the only five-star hotel in Queens.
The completed structure will be 152 feet tall and cover 228,000 square feet, with approximately 101,000 square feet accounting for a Westin hotel owned by Marriott International. The hotel will have 244 total residential rooms across the second floor through the ninth floor. Another 2,270 square feet of the property will be dedicated to community facility use and 42,100 square feet will go towards residential space for 49 luxury condominium units on the top three floors.
This development will also feature 64 parking spaces for vehicles and 40 bicycle parking spots. Guests of the Westin hotel will be granted access to a swimming pool, a fitness center, a ballroom, conference rooms, a shared laundry room, storage space, and valet parking.
