Permits have been filed for the construction of a 9-story mixed-use building with 93 residential units at 18-15 Cornaga Ave. in Far Rockaway.

The proposed building would be 94 feet tall and yield 77,628 square feet of space, with 62,947 square feet designated for residential space, 8,866 square feet for commercial space and 5,815 square feet for community facility space. With an average unit scope of 676 square feet, the 93 residences will most likely be rentals.

In addition to the residences, commercial space and community facility space, the property will also feature a cellar, 18 enclosed parking spaces and a rear yard 30 feet in length. The property is within close proximity to multiple schools, including Peninsula Preparatory Academy, M.S. 53 Brian Piccolo, Success Academy Charter School: Far Rockaway Elementary, Tichon Meir Moshe High School and Little Friends Gan Pre-School. There are also several bus stops in the area for the Q22, Q113 and Q114 lines.

Demolition permits have not yet been filed for 18-15 Cornaga Ave. An estimated completion date for the new building’s construction has not yet been provided.
