Award-winning harpist Brandee Younger will bring her genre-defying sound to Flushing Town Hall on Saturday, May 3, performing alongside her trio at the historic venue in Flushing.
Younger, a Long Island native, made history in 2022 as the first Black woman nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition. Known for her innovative fusion of classical, jazz, soul, and funk, she has collaborated with artists such as Common, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Pharoah Sanders, and Christian McBride during her 15-year career.

The performance will take place at 137-35 Northern Blvd., where Younger is expected to showcase selections from her latest album, Brand New Life, a project that has redefined the harp’s role in contemporary music. Tickets are priced at $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students with ID, and $18 for members.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the extraordinary Brandee Younger Trio to our stage,” said Ellen Kodadek, Flushing Town Hall’s executive and artistic director. “Flushing Town Hall has a long and proud history of presenting incredible jazz artists, and Brandee Younger continues that tradition with her groundbreaking artistry.”
Flushing Town Hall, a landmark venue recognized for its contributions to New York City’s jazz legacy, regularly hosts performances by renowned and emerging artists.
“Brandee Younger is a powerhouse of the harp,” said legendary jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard. “Those two words aren’t usually put together. In this case, it speaks to her creative genius and passion for music.”
