John Grant (inset) is wanted for the June 8 attempted bank robbery at this Chase bank on the Ridgewood/Maspeth border.

A paroled bank robber has been linked to a failed bank robbery on the Ridgewood/Maspeth border last week and other heist attempts across the city, police reported.

Police need your help in finding John Grant, 50, who allegedly tried to hold up the Chase bank located at 51-15 Metropolitan Ave. at 9:45 a.m. on June 8.

According to law enforcement sources, Grant arrived at the location inside a black Toyota Prius, then walked into the Chase bank and approached the counter. He presented a demand note to the teller, but the employee refused to comply with his request.

Grant then exited the bank empty-handed and was last seen entering the rear of a blue Toyota Prius that fled the scene, authorities said.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no injuries.

Grant’s last known address is on Kosciuszko Street in Brooklyn. According to court records, he was arrested in December 2016 for an attempted bank robbery in Queens.

Grant wound up pleading guilty last year and was sentenced in May 2017 to serve between 2 1/2 and 5 years behind bars; however, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, he wound up being paroled in March of this year.

According to information in a wanted flier posted on the 104th Precinct’s Twitter account, detectives have linked Grant to an active citywide bank robbery pattern.

The NYPD Major Case Squad and the Detective Borough Manhattan South are investigating the case.

Anyone with information regarding Grant’s whereabouts is urged to call the 104th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-386-2723, the NYPD Major Case Squad at 646-610-6910 or Detective Borough Manhattan South at 212-477-7447. All calls are kept confidential.
