Police are looking for a man who broke into an Elmhurst mosque and stole money from the donation box.

It was reported that at 8:35 a.m. on Sept. 17, an unknown man gained entry into Masjid Al-Taufiq, located at 41-02 Forley St., through a side window. Once inside, the suspect took $50 in cash from the mosque’s locked donation box.

Police say that the suspect used an unknown object to grab the money from the box’s opening, as there was no damage to the donation box’s lock. The suspect then fled the scene through the same window.

The 110th Precinct tweeted out the following image of the suspect:
