Boro teachers helped kids cheat: Report

By Jyoti Thottam

Independent city schools investigator Edward Stancik found evidence that educators orchestrated cheating on citywide reading and math tests at four Queens schools, according to a report released this week.

The report found cheating at 32 elementary and intermediate schools in every borough, including some cases where principals and teachers colluded in helping students through the tests or giving them answers. Stancik recommended disciplinary action against 52 school employees citywide.

The Queens incidents involved students at PS 120 in Flushing, PS 129 in College Point, PS 62 in Richmond Hill and PS 99 in Kew Gardens, said Brian Fleming, a spokesman for Stancik
