City plans to extend private bus contracts

Despite years of complaints of poor service, the city plans to extend the no-bid contracts of several major private bus lines which thousands of Queens commuters ride to work everyday.

Green Bus Lines, Jamaica Buses, Triboro Coach and Queens Surface Corp. are the four companies in Queens out of seven citywide that would be affected by the contract extension.

The move comes seven years after the city charter
