The 41-year-old wife whom police refused to identify, is eight-months pregnant and suffered a laceration to the head after being hit with a blunt object, said Detective Carolyn Chew, an NYPD spokeswoman. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition, said 108th Precinct Capt. Michael Bryan.

Police said they were looking for three Hispanic men and had not made any arrests as of presstime late Tuesday.

At about 2:40 a.m., police said three men climbed into the second-story apartment at 58-21 43rd Ave. where Jon Achoa and his wife were sleeping. Police officers on the scene would not confirm rumors that the killing may have been drug-related, but killing.

Achoa was shot once in his upper chest and died in the apartment, but Bryan said his wife would recover.
