An Astoria rap star was arrested last weekend following an altercation in a Queens Plaza nightclub, police said.
Kiam Holley, 25, of 8-10 27th Ave. in Astoria was arrested early on the morning of Sept. 6 and charged with assault in the second degree, the Queens district attorney said.
Holley raps under the stage name “Capone” in the duo Capone-N-Noreaga, Newsday reported last week.
Police were called to the front of the Juan Pachanga Disco at 29-14 Northern Blvd. after hearing reports of a dispute involving a firearm, police said.
Newsday reported Holley allegedly started the fight after a bouncer took away a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun the newspaper said he was trying to bring with him into the club.
After responding to reports of a fight at the club, police officers approached Holley’s black Mercedes. Bystanders at the club had told authorities the occupants of the car were carrying guns, police said.
Believing they saw a gun, the officers fired two shots into the car, which then fled, the police said.
Police pursued the vehicle and arrested Holley and one other occupant, Marion Jefferson, 20, of Brooklyn, who was brought to Elmhurst Hospital with a graze wound from the gunfire, police said.
Jefferson was also charged with assault in the second degree, according to the criminal complaint.
