Tryouts for the PeeWee New York City Team Rangers will be held in the Abe Stark Arena, in Brooklyn, on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m, and on Monday, Jan 13, from 8:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Players can choose which session to attend. In addition to the New York City squads, Team Rangers units will also be selected from New Jersey, the Hudson Valley Area, Long Island and Connecticut regions. Each of these teams will travel to Montreal with the New York City players to compete for the Rangers Cup in each age class.
“Young hockey players throughout the tri-state region will be invited to tryout for their regions Team Ranger squad and have the opportunity to wear the Rangers’ jersey in competition against Canadian squads,” said Glen Sather, president and general manager of the New York Rangers.
Trips take place during spring and summer school breaks and feature leadership workshops, college recruiting seminars, practices with former NHL coaches and excursions to some of Montreal's most famous sights.
