Revolutionary medical imaging technology coming to Forest Hills

MRI Associates of Queens, PC, celebrates its 20th anniversary by announcing the installation of Queens County’s first High Field 1.5 Tesla Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) System.
This new MRI system will now enable all patients, including claustrophobic and larger/broader patients, to have access to high field quality imaging in a patient friendly open design. The superior quality images of this high field scanner, previously acquired only through conventional “closed” MRI scanners, will provide doctors and their patients with superb diagnostic quality, confidence and accuracy.
The Siemens Espree, 1.5 Tesla Open MRI scanner has advanced the technology of open MRI by four to five times the signal-to-noise ratio.
“What this will mean to our patients is that they can now have the best of both worlds; no longer compromising quality for comfort”, says Rick LaLuna, Managing Director of the center.
In addition to the new open MRI scanner, MRI Associates is also pleased to announce that, in June, they will be installing Queens County’s very first 64 Slice CT scanner.
This revolutionary new CT scanner can acquire startlingly vivid Cardiovascular and Coronary images in a non- invasive manner, providing cardiologists and their patients with early detection of heart disease. “64 slice multi-detector CT marks a new era in Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, and we are extremely excited about bringing this technology to Queens”, added LaLuna.
“In furthering our commitment to the patients and physicians of Queens, we are also completely renovating our center to compliment our technology and enhance the overall patient experience”, says John Nathenas, MD, President of MRI Associates.
