Queens real estate expo coming to York College

The Queens Real Estate Expo is only weeks away and this year's vendors and participants are sure to make this year's event the preeminent one in the borough, according to Anthony Kazazis, the director for the event.
This year's expo, which will take place on Sunday, September 30 at York College, is expected to attract more than 200 exhibitors and thousands of attendees from all over the city.
Kazazis said that the Real Estate Expo, which he called ‘the people's expo,' is really about bringing together quality exhibitors who will educate the public on a variety of issues including first time home buyers, avoiding foreclosures, securing commercial and residential loans, construction, financing, title insurance, credit restoration and repair, property insurance and many more topics.
&#8220We really want to get to the community and reach out to them in order to help,” Kazazis said. &#8220[We want to show them] all the right, reputable people to go to.”
Meanwhile, planning for the 2007 Real Estate Expo began shortly after last year's event, with monthly breakfast networking events for exhibitors, with the most recent one taking place at Marbella Restaurant inside the Ramada Inn in Bayside. The final networking event prior to this year's expo will also take place at Marbella's.
&#8220The meetings are put together to try to bring all exhibitors to get to know each other prior to the event,” Kazazis said. &#8220We don't want all exhibitors just to meet each other at the last minute.”
Nearly 120 people attended the most recent meeting, a number Kazazis said has been similar to the previous networking events. During these meetings, about half of the attendees were first-timers and half had been coming consistently to the meeting providing a good mix for networking, according to Kazazis.
In addition to interacting with all of the exhibitors at the Expo, attendees will also have the opportunity to attend free seminars and hear from experts in various fields who will discuss issues that have an impact in their field.
Some of the speakers who have already committed include Nancy Esposito, North Coast Financial Group; Belinda Savage, Pensco Trust Company; Derek Bratton, World Financial Enterprises; Reverend Mitchell Taylor, East River Development Alliance; Alex Smiros, Rita Fischer and Mike Fina, Washington Mutual; Indira Hamilton, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; Bernadette Catanzano, Chase Mortgage; Nicholas Tsesmelis, Castle Funding Corp.; representatives from Mortgage World and many more speakers.
Admission price to the expo is $5; senior citizens are $4; and children 15 and under are free, but must be supervised by an adult. Attendees will also have the chance to win dozens of great prizes, including Sony DVD players, Mets tickets and an iPod to name just a few.
Exhibition booths and seminar rooms are still available. For further information visit www.queensrealestateexpo.com or call Kazazis at 646-210-2545.
