Burglary Spree In Howard Beach

Officers of the 106th Precinct want the Howard Beach community to be aware that there has been a rash of burglaries in the area. On one occasion, two males were observed breaking into the rear door of a home. Another witness observed these same two individuals walking around the Howard Beach area. The 106th Precinct is asking that if you see suspicious persons or activity in your neighborhood, call 9-1-1. In addition, cops suggest following these preventative measures to decrease the risk of becoming a victim of burglary:

Always lock your windows and doors when you are not at home.

Keep your home well lit.

Keep bushes and trees which could obstruct the view of your home trimmed so your home can be seen clearly from the street.

Arming alarm systems; video cameras; and securing important items in a safe are some examples of proactive steps you can take to secure your home.
