Balloon and music festival to run 100 hours

Be prepared for three days of live entertainment and excitement at The NY Metro Balloon and Music Festival taking place on August 8 through 10.
This festival, which is the largest summer event happening this year will have more than 40 live bands and a handful of extreme sports to entertain the crowd.
The venue for this event is at the Brookhaven Calabro Airport, in Shirley N.Y.; right off exit 68 of Long Island Expressway.
Last year’s festival was the first time this now-annual event took place. The muggy weather last year might have kept some people away from the event, but a large crowd of 120,000 people still showed up to the festivities.
The Festival will feature more than 35 spectacular hot air balloons taking part in five mass balloon inflations. The balloons will be inflated together and some will fly away while others will stay on site and offer tethered rides, wind and weather permitting, between the hours of 6 and 9 a.m. and 6 and 8 p.m. only.
This year’s event will have live music such as Zebra and The Saw Doctor to headline the festival. Many other cover and tribute bands will showcase their talents during the three days.
Extreme sports like monster truck rallies and BMX and skateboard extreme sports shows will dazzle the audience, while the Purina Incredible Dog Team will perform tricks and exciting activities. World Wrestling Entertainment’s Diva Dawn Marie’s appearance at this event will be special treat for all wrestling fans.
Some of the biggest sponsors for this festival are AT&T, Re/Max of New York, Nikon and Auto Giant.
This three-day-festival is a very charitable event. Some of the charities that this event will benefit are the Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation
