The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance has a new web site that allows individuals to determine if they qualify for various government benefits.
Through the “My benefits” service, New Yorkers can do a 10-minute prescreening for food stamps, Earned Income Tax Credit, child and dependent care credits and the school lunch program.
Simply visit the web page www.mybenefits.ny.gov and click on the “Am I Eligible?” icon. The prescreening is offered in English and Spanish, and the results are kept confidential.
