Jeweler to host a food drive for seniors

AJ’s Jewelry in Ridgewood plans to host a food drive this December in support of the Glenridge Senior Center Food Pantry and the Food Bank of NYC.
Jordan Eddi, founder of AJ’s Jewelry, will offer raffles, prizes, store discounts, and the chance to win a grand prize 42-inch plasma TV. The Food Pantry currently enriches 158 families and 535 people, but is low on supplies.
“My goal is to collect and donate one ton of various food items,” says Mr. Eddi. “After hearing that the Food Pantry was running low, I felt it was our responsibility to give back to this community and help those in need.”
Eddi expects loyal customers to donate generously and make a difference while enjoying fabulous incentives. “In addition to an amazing 42” plasma TV, we’re offering special store discounts and great raffle prizes that everyone will love - like $50 gas cards,” Eddi says.
No purchase is necessary to be eligible to win prizes, but the more food that is donated, the better the chances are of winning. The program runs through the rest of the year.
The Glenridge Senior Center Food Pantry is open to the public. In order to sign up to receive food, please call Helen Allen at 718-386-5136 to make an appointment. The Food Pantry takes place on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
