Spotlight on the Science of Spirituality

Chicago, Kansas City and New York are not connected geographically, but during the past few weeks, H.H. Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj connected them spiritually.
When in the States, the spiritual master can usually be found at the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center in Naperville, Illinois, among other things, teaching meditation on the inner Light and Sound.
However from April 10 to 12, he gave public programs in the surrounding Chicago area. The weekend of April 17, he traveled to Kansas City for a three-day visit, and his most recent program brought him to New York.
From May 1 to May 3, he gave a series of talks, meditations and initiations at the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center in Amityville, Long Island and at the Hindu Temple in Flushing.
The Amityville Center overflowed as, over his two days there, 2,000 people came to hear and see the spiritual master.
At each stop, he delighted the Indian community by giving a talk in Hindi. Because of the multicultural nature of the audience, these talks were translated into English and Spanish. In fact, every talk was translated into Spanish to accommodate the large numbers of Hispanic seekers who attend all his events.
“I’m always amazed at how still everyone becomes when Maharaj Ji gives darshan, no matter if they’re sitting in front of him or seeing him on the video,” said Michael Ravens, director of the Amityville Science of Spirituality Meditation Center. “No one moves. No one even whispers. It’s as though everyone were frozen in time. No one wants to miss a split second of the power of his glance.”
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj’s Sunday talk at the Hindu Temple auditorium in Queens was especially timely: “Meditate and Find Joy In Troubled Times.” The pouring rain didn’t deter anyone, and people who had never seen the spiritual master before filled the auditorium. In addition, 500 people watched a video feed in a downstairs function room.
While in Flushing he was once again honored for his humanitarianism and message of global peace. He received a tribute from New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, and one from Congressmember Joseph Crowley. Dr. Padmanabhan, representing Dr. Uma Mysorekar, president of the Hindu Temple of North America, welcomed him with a shawl.
