MIDDLE VILLAGE — The city Department of Investigation said it arrested a Queens man last week for allegedly stealing more than $5,000 from the New York City Employees Retirement System.
DOI Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn said Middle Village resident Andrew Ragone, 49, was charged with grand larceny Friday after he allegedly submitted a fraudulent lost check claim form to the city and collected a total of $5,020 from the city pension fund.
“This sanitation worker has been charged with cheating the city pension fund of several thousand dollars,” Hearn said. “Everyone should know, most especially city employees, that such double-dipping is fraud that will be prosecuted.”
