Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer addressed a gathering of business leaders attending a breakfast hosted by the Long Island City Business Development Corporation (LICBDC). Van Bramer praised the members of the LICBDC for establishing a vibrant business community that is attracting new businesses as well as residents and cultural organizations.
During his talk, Van Bramer spoke about his efforts to reduce the scheduled amount of time that residents were impacted by weekend service cuts on the No. 7 train, plans for the upcoming library at Hunters Point and the systemic parking problem in Long Island City.
In addition, he also talked about how Long Island City will soon be home to JetBlue’s new headquarters and the recent unveiling of The New York Public Library’s new processing center located in the area.
