Police seek man who robbed Popeye’s, shot worker

Cops are looking for a man they say held up a Popeye’s Fried Chicken and shot an employee.

The incident happened on Thursday, August 19, at the restaurant located at 245-01 Francis Lewis Boulevard. The perp, armed with a firearm, walked behind the counter and approached the victim, a 22-year-old male, demanding cash. The suspect then shot the victim in the right hand before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash. The victim was taken by EMS to North Shore Manhasset Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male black, 5’10" and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing black football pants (uniform type) and carrying football equipment. He was also wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and black cap.
