Police seek suspect in attempted burglary

BAYSIDE — Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to force his or her way into a home near Francis Lewis Boulevard and 53rd Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The suspect placed a lawn chair under a rear bedroom window in order to gain entry to the home Saturday. When the window pushed up slightly, the security alarm went off, at which point the perpetrator fled, police said.
