Quick loans or sales of valued possessions

EZ Pawn Corporation has been trading and exchanging not only valuable items but trust with Queens residents since its establishment in 1996.

“Our mission is to serve our customers to the greatest extent and provide them with convenient transactions to serve all of their needs,” said Lauren Kaminsky, Vice President.

Known as a full-service jeweler, pawnshop, and second-hand electronic retail store, EZ Pawn offers quick and easy cash loans and enables customers to sell their unwanted jewelry, electronics and musical instruments. Additionally, the business also has an array of items for sale. Queens is the home of three locations in Jackson Heights, Sunnyside and Jamaica, and there are a total of eight businesses also in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Kaminsky described EZ Pawn as a business with two facets – one as a financial institution that lends customers money on their collateral, such as gold, diamonds, or watches; and the other as a retail store, which carries anything from an inexpensive wedding band to a name-brand watch.

When asked what sets EZ Pawn apart from other competitors, Kaminsky said that “it’s very important that when looking for a pawnshop to know how much they charge for interest per month.” She added that EZ Pawn charges three percent per month, while many others charge four percent.

Customers are a priority at EZ Pawn. Kaminsky said everything is done to make customers feel at ease with the transaction process. She also said employees take time to thoroughly explain everything stated on the transaction ticket in addition to answering any questions.

At EZ Pawn, there is no credit check or background check. Requirements are that customers be 18 or over, have proper identification and that the item being used for the loan must belong to the customer or that the customer must have the right to use it as collateral. EZ Pawn accepts gold, diamonds, new or old jewelry and more and allows customers to borrow money on the item, with four months to get it back.

EZ Pawn is currently running a coat drive until January 1 at all of their locations and each store is also holding special sales for the holiday season.
