After 18 years at Beach Channel High School, this will be the last for Harry G’s annual Doo Wop Spectacular.
Since the school is being phased out, “New York’s Duke of Doo Wop” told The Courier that he will continue the fundraising show – just at other venues.
“People came from all over to see the shows,” said Harry G, who taught at the school for 30 years. “We’ve been very lucky for 18 years.”
This year’s show, featuring such acts as The Fireflies, The Paradons, Vito and the Salutations, Manhattan Skyline, Tony Lee and Kenny Vance and the Planotones, raised around $1,000 for the Susan G. Memorial Scholarship Fund at Beach Channel.
