Grandson arrested in home homicide: Police

JAMAICA — A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly killing his grandmother and ditching her body under the stairwell of her Jamaica house, police said.

Christopher Jackson was charged by police with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence a day after officers were called to the 175th Street home where he and his grandmother, Rosemary Little, lived, according to investigators

Little, 62, was pronounced dead by EMS crews after the authorities arrived at the house around 11:19 p.m., according to the police. Her corpse was found stuffed underneath the stairwell, a police source said.

Jackson was brought into the 103rd Precinct for questioning hours later and remained there while the city medical examiner’s office conducted its investigation, a police source said.

Although the NYPD declined to say how Little was killed, a source claimed she was strangled to death. Jackson was awaiting arraignment at Queens Criminal Court as of press time Tuesday evening.
