An open letter to U.S. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-Bayside):
I am disturbed that the people the voters elected to represent us still cannot come to grips with the issue of addressing the country’s debt problem.
I would like to suggest that you find a government program, department or law that has become obsolete or in hindsight is wasteful or has become irrelevant and eliminate it.
If you and everyone of your counterparts did the same and went back to their constituents with some tangible evidence that you are trying to reduce the burdensome debt, we the people, who you were elected to represent, will have faith you are doing something to bring this country back from the brink.
