Karlin Decorators, a Queens mainstay for 45 years, continues to lend their expertise to residents across the city’s largest borough
Now located in Whitestone at 17-18 154th Street, they serve all five boroughs and Long Island, also traveling as far as New Jersey and Connecticut to conduct business.
“We listen carefully to the customers’ needs and make sure the color schemes are appropriate,” said Ben Morgan, head decorator at Karlin. “We try to stay within the customer’s budget, which is very important.”
When making house calls they offer free estimates and establish a very personal relationship with the customers.
“We provide reliability, great service and 45 years of experience which is what separates us from other decorators,” said Morgan. “We are outliving the competition at the moment.”
There is a wide selection of fabrics and fringes available and a wide selection of all designer fabrics, including the Hunter-Douglas Gallery Shoppe that features all the latest styles in shades and blinds.
“What someone may like another person may think it will not look right for their house,” said Morgan. “Window treatments make a home very personal. It is the finishing touch to making a home.”
Morgan has been on the job for over 40 years and he brings that experience with him as he accommodates each and every customer to their specific specifications. He started working at Karlin as a decorator and eventually worked his way up to head decorator. This experience at nearly every level gives Morgan an unmatched passion in the industry.
“When someone wants to buy a home and see bland window treatment they will choose the house with the window treatments that are more presentable,” said Morgan. “My business helps customers sell their house and it makes the difference between selling and not selling the house.”
