Parishioners at St. Teresa’s Church gave a rousing sendoff to their pastor, Msgr. Denis M. Herron (at left), during a Jan. 7 Mass and celebration at the Woodside church. As noted, Herron-who led St. Teresa’s for 12 years-officially departs the parish on Jan. 30 for a three-month sabbatical in Rome, and will be reassigned upon his return to New York in the spring. Among those on hand to honor Herron’s service during the celebration were City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, Community Board 2 Chairperson Joseph Conley and United Forties Civic Association President Don McCallian.
