City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer helped kick off the Department of Education’s “Respect For All Week” on Monday, Feb. 13, by attending a ceremony at Bryant High School in Long Island City. As noted, the city-wide initiative is designed to promote respect for diversity among students through skits, art projects, readings and performances. During Monday’s event, Bryant High School Principal Namita Dwarka presented Van Bramer-an alum of the high school-with a plaque honoring him for his service to the community and his efforts to keep the institution open.
