Nypd Seeks Suspects In Astoria Cellphone Thefts

Two Wanted For Separate Incidents

The NYPD has released surveillance camera photos of two men wanted in unrelated cases of cellphone theft in Astoria.

In the first case, an African-American male wearing jeans, a dark blue shirt and a Colorado Rockies baseball cap was seen grabbing an iPhone from a victim on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. on 30th Street and 36th Avenue in Astoria. He then fled the scene.

In the second case, an African- American male 20-25 years old and weighing approximately 165 lbs. is wanted for three separate phone thefts from female victims in their 20s:

– On Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m., a 27-year-old female was walking in the vicinity of 35th Street and 36th Avenue when the suspect approached her, displayed a knife, took her iPhone and fled.

– On Saturday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
