Va. Murder Suspect Cuffed In Corona

Snared In Joint NYPD-FBI Investigation

A man wanted for a Virginia murder was arrested by federal agents outside a Corona home on Thursday, Sept. 13.

FBI agents, with the help of the NYPD’s Manhattan Warrant Squad, arrested Udeil Delton Yates without incident at approximately 10:30 a.m. outside a residence on 108th Street in Corona on a warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Yates was charged on July 20, 2012 by Virginia authorities with first-degree murder, malicious wounding, two counts of robbery, four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and two counts of conspiracy to commit rob- bery in the Norfolk, Va. area.

“This arrest is another fine example of the outstanding cooperation the FBI shares with local police departments around the nation, in furtherance of our common goal of getting violent criminals off our streets,” said Special Agent in Charge April Brooks in a statement.
