Want Astoria Bikini Bar Idea to Go Bust

State Sen. Michael Gianaris joined Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas at a recent rally in Astoria against the proposed opening of a bikini bar called “Racks” on Steinway Street. Gianaris (standing at microphone) and Simotas (standing behind Gianaris) urged the State Liquor Authority to turn down a proposed liquor license for the establishment. “A lewd business like Racks will decrease our quality of life and harm nearby businesses, who respect the character of the neighborhood,” Gianaris said.
