Shovels In the Ground for Sunnyside School

State Sen. Michael Gianaris, City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan (fourth to sixth from left) joined Department of Education (DOE) and School Construction Authority (SCA) employees at the groundbreaking last Thursday, Jan. 31 of Sunnyside’s new school, P.S. 313. Scheduled to open in September 2014, the 75,000 square ft., 430-student facility will be located at 45-45 42nd St, and will include a combined gymnasium/auditorium, cafeteria, kitchen, administrative and medical suites, 20 classrooms, art and science classrooms and a library.
