ELMHURST — It was “A Bronx Tale” set in Queens.
A 17-year-old member of the Sureno 13 gang from the Bronx allegedly swiped an iPhone from another Bronx man visiting Queens with his 4-year-old son May 1, according to the NYPD,
But authorities say the suspect didn’t get too far.
After Louis Barragan asked the man, “Do you want me to hurt you?,” he allegedly stole the phone and fled, according to NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.
After the man gave Barragan’s description to responding officers, Emilie Pembroke and Kathryn Brown, they put the information out over the radio, Browne said.
Two other officers, Richard Harris and Frank Cantalino, heard the information and had a hunch the suspect might have hopped onto the No. 7 train.
The cops walked to the Junction Boulevard station and spotted Barragan, who the NYPD said matched the description and has an extensive robbery arrest history, according to police.
The victim identified the teen, who allegedly had the stolen iPhone in his pocket, Browne said.
