Civic Organizes Community-Wide Event
Woodhaven figures to be a special destination for bargainhunters during the last weekend of September, as the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association (WRBA) is again organizing a community-wide yard sale.
Known as “The Great Woodhaven Yard Sale,” it will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating households in the 11421 ZIP code.
In the event of inclement weather, the yard sale will take place the following day, Sunday, Sept. 28.
The WRBA is compiling a list and map of homeowners planning to set up shop on Sept. 27. The organization will distribute these maps from its Jamaica Avenue office and will post it on their website, www.woodhaven-nyc.org. No specific addresses will be provided.
Last year’s neighborhoodwide yard sale proved successful, the civic group noted in a press release, as over 60 Woodhaven families participated, attracting customers from across Queens. Many of the sellers reported sales in excess of $100 each.
