Gottschee U8 Blue Runs Away In Weekend Match

Older Clubs Also Have Successful Outings

The Blau Weiss Gottschee U8 Blue had a strong showing last Saturday Sept. 20, wining 5- 2 against SC Gjoa Berg. With one goal apiece from Leana Ruiz, Walter Quizhpe, Leo Schempp and Luciano Larrea scoring twice, BWG went on to get the victory.

The winning effort was helped by tidy goalkeeping from Giacomo Faccioli and Demir Cetinkaya, and standout defensive work from Jeremy Salazar.

The BWG U8 White team won against Gjoa on Saturday as well. The Gottschee team ended the first half lagging behind, but caught up quickly in the second half to win the game 8-4. Coaches praised Luca Giannola and Eduardo Manrique for scoring hat-tricks, Semih Gul scored as well.

The BWG U9 White recently played the NY Stars and won by a 3-1 score on goals scored by Joaquin Franco, Jakub Rembiszewski and Marco Bogdanovic.

The BWG U10 Royals had two games this past weekend. They won the first one against Elephteria 4-2 on goals scored by Emiliano Paez, Jadin Hodzic, Ryan Weismann and Max Suarez, but lost their second game to Islas Malvinas 3-0.

At the Blue Weiss Gottschee Academy the BWG Pre-Academy 2003 had a very good game this past Saturday, wining 4-2 against Match Fit. Goals came from James Cartier (2) and Massimo Murania and Matthew Kieblesz with one each.

The BWG U12 Blue recently traveled to Portland, Conn. and played a very good game, though missed lots of chances against Oakwood, acording to coaches. The final score was 1-1, with the game ending in a tie. The only goal for the Gottschee was scored by Trevor Muller.

The older squads faced MLS juniors from D.C. United in Maryland. Here are the results: U13 won 3-1; U15 lost 4-1; U16 tied 1-1 and U18 lost 1-0.
