By Michael Shain

A truck driver who suffered an apparent seizure died Monday after his truck crossed over the median and struck two parked cars in Auburndale, police say.

The 64-year-old driver, whose was identified as Frederick Harris from Westminster, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 6:30 a.m. on busy Francis Lewis Boulevard and 49th Avenue.

The truck was moving fast enough to crush one of the parked cars beyond recognition. No one was inside the cars.

The truck was owned by a Baltimore, Md. firm, Patapsco Valley Sales, that specializes in distributing products to home gardening centers, according to the company’s website.

The collision was so severe that the body was pinned in the truck’s front seat for more than an hour. Emergency Service Unit cops draped a pink sheet over the body while they worked to extricate the driver from the mangled cab.
