Some acrobatic thieves managed to break in through the roof of a Bayside restaurant on Saturday and stole thousands of dollars, police said.
According to authorities, the Bourbon Street restaurant located on Bell Boulevard was burglarized at about 5 a.m. on Saturday. Cops said that the suspects used a fire escape on the back of the building to climb up to the rooftop.
The thieves were able to make off with $9,600 in cash.
The break-in was reported to the 111th Precinct; no arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
The rooftop has only been open to the public since August after a long-awaited renovation. A Bourbon Street spokesperson declined to comment on the incident.
