Police want to talk to the man who abandoned his bid to rob a bank in St. Albans last Friday morning.
The failed heist occurred at 9:28 a.m. on June 24 inside the Carver Federal Savings branch located at 115-02 Merrick Blvd.
According to authorities, the suspect — described as a black man believed to be 45 years of age, standing 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds and having a dark complexion — entered the branch, approached the counter and handed to a teller a note demanding cash.
Seconds later, the suspect abruptly walked out of the branch empty-handed, fleeing in an unknown direction.
The incident was reported to the 103rd Precinct; there were no injuries.
Police said the would-be bandit was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a blue shirt and blue jeans.
