The Showtime series “Billions,” starring Toby Leonard Moore and Paul Giamatti, is returning to Middle Village on Tuesday, Oct. 4, to film scenes for the second season.
Film crews will once again take over the Rosa’s Pizza Restaurant, located at 75-59 Metropolitan Ave., to shoot interior and exterior dialogue scenes on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to midnight.
According to the event description, there will be an interior dialogue scene in the pizzeria. Two actors will then walk out of the pizza shop, cross the street, and hold exterior dialogue. One of the actors will get into car, while the other one walks away. There will be five background actors and the crew will use a Steadicam shot across Metropolitan Avenue, where there will be 15 picture cars reverse parked in the background.
The crew has been granted permission to stage and operate a 80-foot condor lift, to reverse traffic on 78th Street between Metropolitan Avenue and 67th Road, to divert traffic from 78th Street and Metropolitan Avenue, to take over the curb lane plus one on 78th Street between Metropolitan Avenue and 67th Road, to lay a dolly track, to stage and operate a camera in the curb lane plus one on Metropolitan Avenue and 78th Street, and to stage and operate 15 picture vehicles.
These requests will also involve parking restrictions for the area.
- 78th Street between Metropolitan Avenue and 67th Road will be closed off on both sides for the entire block.
- The north and south sides of 67th Road between 78th and 79th streets will be blocked for two truck lengths.
- Both sides of Metropolitan Avenue between 74th and 78th street will be shut down for the full length of the block.
- The west side of 78th Street between 66th Drive and Metropolitan Avenue will be needed for ¾ of the block, while the entire western side of the block will be closed.
Crews will also be filming an interior/exterior scene at 65-14 77th St., where a lady will walk down the stoop and sidewalk, and there will be an interior dialogue scene.
This will close off several streets around the area including the full east side of 77th Street between 65th Drive and Juniper Valley Road; the entire west side of 77th Street between 65th Drive and Furmanville Avenue; the full length of both sides of Furmanville Avenue between 77th Street and 75th Place; the whole east side of 77th Street between 66th Road and Juniper Valley Road; and the entirety of both sides of Juniper Valley Road between 77th Street and 77th Place.
“Billions” previously shot scenes for its first season at the same pizzeria in Middle Village last summer.
