Two people were injured after a blaze ignited inside a Middle Village apartment building on Monday morning, the FDNY said.
According to the Fire Department, the one-alarm inferno broke out at about 7:24 a.m. on Feb. 20 on the second floor of a two-story residence on 79th Place between Metropolitan Avenue and Juniper Valley Road.
Sixty firefighters from 12 Fire Department units responded to the scene along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units.
The two injured residents were treated at the scene for injuries not considered life-threatening. Other residents inside the apartment house were able to exit on their own.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control at about 8:32 a.m.; the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation, Fire Department sources said.
