You can now show off pride in your Queens hometown with custom t-shirts.

Unified Queens, a small Astoria-based business, makes original designs that are based off of the rich history of New York. Now they have added designs to celebrate the history of Jamaica, Jackson Heights and Forest Hills.

Founder Robert Duffy told QNS last year that he founded the shirt business in part to give Queens residents a greater appreciation of their home borough’s history.

The first new design looks back on Queens’ history during the Revolutionary War. While many Queens residents were British loyalists, a band of 56 Minutemen from Jamaica rallied together and went to Brooklyn to participate in the Battle of Long Island in 1776. Now you can remember their call to battle with a cool new shirt.

The second new design celebrates Jackson Heights. With it’s green spaces that are tucked away near the many apartment buildings, Jackson Heights was built as the first garden city community in the United States during the international garden city movement in the early 20th century.

The third design features the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, who worked with Unified Queens on the design for this shirt. Since its opening in 1923, the Forest Hills Stadium quickly became one of the most popular tennis venues in the country. In the 1960s, they hosted a variety of musical acts, including Jimi Hendrix, Barbra Streisand and the Beatles. They took a hiatus from hosting music artists in the 1980s but have since re-opened as a music venue in 2013.
