Ridgewood man found dead after taking a fall outside a bar in Brooklyn: reports

Cops are investigating the death of a Ridgewood man who was found unresponsive outside a bar in Brooklyn over the weekend.

According to police, officers from the 90th Precinct responded to a 911 call about an unconscious male outside of an establishment in the basement of 168 Marcy Ave. in Williamsburg at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8.

When police arrived, they found 28-year-old Steven Vazquez of Gates Avenue in Ridgewood unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the head, officials stated. The New York Daily News, citing police sources, reported that Vazquez had apparently fallen and hit his head.

EMS units rushed Vazquez to Woodhull Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased, law enforcement agents said. His body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
